Council Job Search Because the role of Tauranga City Council is so varied, there are all sorts of jobs and career opportunities available.

Tauranga City Council has over 400 full time and part time employees that cover a diverse range of activities in the community. Many of our positions require tertiary qualifications in a range of disciplines, including engineering, planning, management, finance, horticulture, and the arts.

The organisation is structured under six groups, each headed by a Group Manager.

Q. Who do I call for help when applying for a vacancy?
A. Call 57 77000 who can assist or will put you through to an HR Team Member.

Q. Who do I contact with any further enquiries?
A. If you have any further enquiries about vacancies/work opportunities/work experience you can speak to an HR team   member by calling the Customer Centre on the contact number 577 7000, or emailing vacancies@tauranga.govt.nz

Q. Where can I get help with my CV?
A. Assistance can be obtained from WINZ. You can also go to www.seek.co.nz and click to the Career Resources Page then on the Job Search Strategies link for tips on CV writing and interview skills.

Q. Why do I need to complete the application form when my CV contains the information anyway?
A. This is because the application form contains two declarations, which must be signed personally by the applicant. It also requires other information not always recorded on a CV such as if you are known by another name (alias), if you are legally entitled to work in New Zealand or your consent to a medical check, if required. All candidates must personally complete in full and sign an application form before they can be considered for employment.
